Cities are full of printed matter: transit tickets, café receipts, takeaway labels, museum flyers, event posters and store cards. You can collect variety quickly without hunting for souvenirs.

A single day can move through very different visual worlds. Keep one tiny piece from each neighborhood, market, café or transit line and the finished page will start to map the day without becoming a literal map.

Choose one recurring theme

For a weekend, one repeatable mission works well: typography, doors, color, food packaging or transit. Repetition makes a short trip feel cohesive.

End with one sentence

After the trip, write one line: what did this city feel like? The answer does not have to be profound. It only has to bring the collection back to life later.
