Start with what the trip gives you
Your train ticket, coffee sleeve, museum sticker, grocery label or restaurant card has already been paid for as part of the experience. Keeping a small piece turns it into a souvenir without adding another object to your luggage.
Free does not mean meaningless
A free leaflet can be more specific to your trip than a generic magnet. The value comes from the memory attached to it, not the price.
Take only what is yours to take
Do not remove signs, menus, décor or public materials that are meant to stay in place. Use disposable or freely offered material, or ask before taking something.
Keep less, choose better
One strange label you remember finding in a corner shop can be more powerful than a bag full of random paper. Selectivity is part of the fun.
